Welcome to the blog!

Hello and welcome to my first, of what I hope will be many, insightful blogs into the world of coaching and self-development!

I’m Sophie - a certified professional coach and I’ve been coaching since 2019. I did my training with the Co-Active Training Institute, which is recognised internationally and accredited by the International Coaching Federation. With over 12 years experience working for a digital media agency, a campaigning charity, an Academy school and a youth offending team, I have a broad understanding of the opportunities and challenges people face in the private, public and third sectors and across society. My aim is for clients to reach their full potential and lead more fulfilling and balanced lives.

I started coaching full-time in January 2021 and I’m enjoying investing more time into building my business. My passion for helping others through coaching came through a chance opportunity to have my own coach, paid for through a self-development budget from my organisation. I’d approached him to help me navigate through an upcoming career change and little did I know at the time it would lead me to become a coach myself.

I truly believe in the positive impacts coaching can provide and I could chat for hours to family and friends that ask about it. To educate and build awareness around coaching for a wider audience, I’ve decided to start this blog. I hope to answer questions, dispel myths and provide useful information about coaching and what it can do for you or your organisation.

The only problem with this decision is that writing has never been my strong point or passion - a slight problem when it comes to writing a blog! Enter my great friend Amy. Over the pandemic, like a lot of people, we’ve been through various shifts in life. She’s always loved writing and I’ve always avoided it, so it made sense to team up and work together – something we’ve hoped to do for a while. I tell her what I’d like to communicate and she puts her writing skills to work to make sense of it!

Over the coming weeks I'll be covering exactly what coaching is, who it’s for, how it can benefit you and the different coaching tools that can be used to empower you across any aspect of your life.

In the meantime, if you have any questions about coaching or topics that you’d like covered, don’t hesitate to get in touch here or via LinkedIn – I’d love to hear from you.
